Vancouver Sun Run
I finished the Vancouver Sun Run yesterday in a time of 62 minutes and 52 seconds. My official placing was 13,982 place out of a record 50,746 registered participants. My goal was to finish in under 65 minutes so I am quite happy with my result. I had a shot to finish in under an hour but around the 4.5 km mark, my right ankle and knee decided they didn't want to run anymore. Between that point and the 8 km marker, I split the distance between running/hobbling and walking. The last 2 km I gritted my teeth and ran through the pain with a mad sprint in the final 250 m.
Now that that is finished, as much as I'd like to maintain my training and diet regimen, It is only inevitable that I will return to the natural state of a computer programmer by avoiding the Sun and eating quick fast food lunches. I guess I should enjoy it while I can.
