2 Hours of Screaming

Thursday Morning Craziness

I was awaken this morning around 4:00 AM to the sounds of yelling and dogs barking outside my bedroom window. I tried to ignore it as best I could and eventually I nodded off again a half hour later. At 6:00 AM I am awaken once more to the sound of the same voice yelling. I finally get up and see that there is some guy handcuffed on the ground with an unmarked police car and a paddy wagon (pictured above).

I don't know the details of why this person was arrested, but from his yelling and profanity I heard when I first woke up, it sounds like a breaking and entering attempt. I do know that the suspect was drunk (and possibly high) and being a beligerent assmunch. I also know that the suspect was pepper sprayed because he was being wild and unruly. When I took the photo I did see an officer still trying to do paperwork for this guy's arrest.

I asked my neighbours why this drama was going on for so long and they said that they did get the guy into the paddy truck earlier but he was thrashing about causing a general ruckus so they had to haul him out of the truck. An ambulance came, perhaps to treat an injury incurred during the thrashing about, but I am unclear about that. It might have been for another person that was with him but got hauled away earlier. The guy was finally taken away around 6:30 AM.

I'm glad they caught someone but really, did they have to take two and half hours? I suspect that he'll just get a slap on the wrist by the courts for all this in the end.

Craziness indeed.

Slap on the wrist!?!?! One can only hope. I hate to say this, but the older I get, the less my heart bleeds. I'm so tired of criminals getting a good nights rest in a holding cell, just to be out on the street the next day freaking out average Joe Q. Taxpayer.

I agree

Yeah. I agree. You know I work in a pretty crappy area of city. Excuse me, I meant the crappiest part of the city. I see this shit all the time and I just get more and more jaded. I don't need to see this shit around a residential area especially when I have neighbours with small children.
