The project started in August 2002, when Toys For Bob released the partially ported sources of Star Control 2 3DO version to the fan community. Our goal is to port this wonderful game to current personal computers and operating systems. It is and will remain 100% free of charge, and anyone can contribute to the project and thus help make it even better.
If you've never played this space adventure game I advise you to download the open source version now. I remember fondly playing the original PC version and still today this ranks as one of my top 10 favourite PC games ever. It had an awesome story line, an enormous universe to explore and the dialogue between the various alien races you either ally with or fight against is chock full of funny.
