The Next Level For Speed Fanatics?
Dr. Peter H. Diamandis, Founder of the X PRIZE, and Mr. Granger Whitelaw, two-time Indianapolis 500 champion team partner, in partnership with the X PRIZE Foundation and the Reno Air Racing Association, are launching a new venture on Monday, October 3rd, 2005 called the Rocket Racing League.
This will be a very cool thing to see if they can put an actual race together. A lot of innovation put into cars came out of autoracing. If this league gets "off the ground" (bad pun, sorry) then hopefully we will see some innovation in technology that could be applicable for space exploration.

yippee Isn't that terrific. A bunch of rich yahoos tearing up the atmosphere. And then just like automobile racing, maybe we'll see innovations in technology. I mean we owe so much to automobile racing. |
